ROOM PLANNER AND PRODUCT CONFIGURATOR - ILLUSTRATIVE DATA
Niall Arnfield, 23 September 2026

This is fictional teaching data, not a client catalogue, room plan or installation assessment.
configuration-and-layout.json separates one product specification from two placed instances.
All dimensions and positions in this example use metres. Positions identify the centre of the product footprint on the x/z floor plane. Rotation is in degrees about the vertical axis. No spatial validity, collisions, opening clearances, services, accessibility or installation rules are implemented or certified.

The two placements intentionally reference the same configuration. To change only one cabinet, create a new configuration record and point that instance to it; mutating the shared record changes the specification used by both.
The catalogueVersion identifies the fictional source. A receiving application must revalidate actual catalogue availability, specifications, prices and any relevant layout constraints. No prices, customer data, executable code or 3D assets are included.

planning-scope.csv is an editable scoping worksheet. Blank answers are unanswered decisions, not passes. Open it in a spreadsheet editor and assign an owner for each decision.

This pack can be adapted for a project brief. It is not a functioning planner or configurator.
